Vacation Empties! (13 Things!)

So like a good Blogger I managed to have some empties while on vacation! Check em out!

1. Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration SPF 12
See my previous posts here, and here where I discuss this product.

2. Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter Body Butter Mini
I got this at Sephora when I had some store credit because everyone on Youtube that I watch from England loves Soap & Glory and raves on and one about the scent. I decided to give this a go since it is only like $5 and a girl always needs body butter. I concur that the smell is AMAZING! And this body butter is the right amount of rich moisturization! Would I buy the full size though? Not sure, because it is so expensive, but I am definitely interested in trying out other Soap & Glory products and am not below putting the full size body butter on my Christmas list, haha.

3. Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy La Fleur Sample
I got this sample in my August Birchbox and I loooove it! I have sampled the classic Viva La Juicy before in my January Birchbox. I am vaguely contemplating buying the full sized bottle of the La Fleur through Birchbox when I have enough rewards points for it. It is like the regular Viva La Juicy but with more floral notes, while also retaining the classic Viva La Juicy scent! Perfection! <3

4. Boscia Black Mask Sample
I liked this mask, and found it to be quite similar to the White Mask which I had used before vacation and LOVED. I liked this Black one and the application and process is the same as the white one, but when I peeled it off it didn't feel as refreshing or brightening as the White one. It is possible that this feeling is all in my head and that the Black & White masks really are the same, just different colors, but I know I would buy the White one before the Black one.

5. Caudalie Beauty Elixer
I previously reviewed this product in a post dedicated all to itself!

6. CVS Brand Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 50
This sunblock was ok. I loved that I got it for free through a CVS coupon, and that it was SPF 50, but otherwise, there is nothing amazing about this sunblock. The smell is a little off, kinda like old bananas (ewwy!). However, the staying power was really nice, and if I remember correctly, the price point is pretty fabulous. If I was on a tight budget or got tired of frou frou sunscreens, this one is just fine. Buy full sized? Maybe after I've tried all the Branded kinds.

7. Hawaiian Tropic Sensitive Stick Sunscreen SPF 50
I bought this back in December when I made my first extended stay in FL after an incident where I managed to sunburn my eyes due to all my other sunscreens making my eyes burn upon application and causing me to never apply enough around my eyes. Not a cute look I must say, so out of desperation I bought this face stick sunscreen so my face would stop stinging from other blocks, and so I would stop burning. I also figured that extra SPF on my face would be good to prevent acne scars from getting darker. This product was a win win in both categories! It never stung my face, and it never let me down. The only off thing is, because I apply this product thickly, when I am at the beach sand tends to get stuck in the sunblock and then kinda just stay there all day, even when my face is dry. So, maybe not the best choice for a date, but given that I was always at the beach by myself, I didn't mind, haha. Re-buy? Definitely will be next summer! (Or this winter if I end up in Florida again and need face block sooner).

8. Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration SPF 30
I have previously discussed this product in a post dedicated entirely to it! Check it out: here.
***Please note that I got this product for free through Influenster, but was not obligated to write a review***

9. Sally Hansen Nails & Cuticles Hand Cream
Let me preface by saying that I have always been marginally interested in trying this product because I kepy seeing coupons for it on Coupons.com, but just never got around to trying it, so was thrilled when I finally got the chance too! I also loved the timing of it, because I had used the Caudalie Vinotherapie Hand and Nail Cream a few months ago. I found the Sally Hansen to be kinda like the cooler younger sister of the Caudalie cream. It has a very similar smell, but to me the Sally Hansen is better and smells more fruity rather than Pez-y. I also loved the resulted. It wasn't that heavy, but I always felt moisturized afterwards. I found myself looking forward to using this product nightly because I loved the smell and the feeling of it! I don't know if it had any kind of long term preventative effect because I wash my hands so often, but I know it always helped when my hands were dry! Will I buy the full size? I think I definitely will after I use up the 3 or so hand cream samples I have managed to get for free recently (2 L'Occitane ones even! Woo hoo coupons! ).
***Please note that I got this product for free through Influenster, but was not obligated to write a review***

10. Aveeno Continuous Protection Sunblock Lotion SPF 55
I really liked the sunblock. I turned to its aid when a SPF 15 was just not cutting it for me after long days at the beach and I was getting burned. I had this in my stash after a super coupon-a-palooza in late june/early july (think CVS Aveeno Coupon, Manufacturer Coupon, CVS coupon for $ off a certain $ amount purchase, and maybe even the product also being on sale, it was a magnificent moment in couponing history) and never was super excited about it because I though: "SPF 55? How can I get a tan with that?" And let me tell you, being preventative about sun burn obsessively and slowly tanning over an entire morning & afternoon, is way better than say a limiting hour of tanning with SPF 15. More beach time! And I think, more product use allowing moisturization! I won't lie, this sunblock was thick, and didn't have any special smell or anything, but it worked, it was reliable, it didn't sting, and it wasn't greasy! Would I buy again? I'm not super motivated enough to buy it full price, but if I stumble upon an amazing deal like I did with this tube, I think I will. The only thing holding me back is the price given the 4 oz size, because it only lasted me a full days of use (Though please note that I am a known product over user, and the day before I used this product I got a sunburn so was even more obsessive about application and so may have been even more of a product over user, so maybe it would last you longer?).

11. Sun Sum SPF 15 Continuous Spray Sunscreen
I have used up a bottle of this before and reviewed it here. I still love it, and I actually got this bottle for free from the Sun Bum guys when I visited their office down in Cocoa Beach! I mentioned on facebook that I was excited to buy Sun Bum sunblock while down for vacation and then messaged me saying I should drop by their office, and while I was there they gave me free swag! I wasn't even expecting anything! Thanks Dustin & Dustin! Sun Bum forever! Do you Trust The Bum(Tm)? Cuz I sure do!
***I got this product for free from the company, but only because the guys there are super cool. Absolutely no obligations what so ever to talk about the product because they don't even know I have a blog!***

12. Proxi Skincare Body Wash in Cucumber & Green Tea
Can I just say, I love the weird smell of this product? Because I do. I love it. It reminds me of freshly cleaned pool locker rooms. It must be the fresh smell of the hydrogen peroxide that the brand is based around, along with the cucumber and green tea (though the tea smell is super faint). Whatever it is, I love the vaguely clorine-y smell! It makes me think clean, and the product delivers a fabulous and foamy clean! Would I buy this? Yes I definitely will! I have some coupons for the product, so now I just need to hunt them down in Baltimore! (Sold in certain grocery stores, just not ones I normally shop at so haven't actually seen it for sale with my own eyes, but I know it is actually sold in certain stores).
***I got this product for free through Klout, but had no obligation to do a review***

13. Alba Botanica Natural Very Emollient Foam Shave in Sea Mist
I bought this semi on a whim when I was doing a secret shopping job at a natural food store. I didn't really need any groceries so I decided to get some natural beauty products, and one of the ones that called to me was this foam shave. I love that it is a non-aerosol shaving foam!!! I also love the mist because it is kind of masculine so it leans unisex! Normally I like a fun smelling shaving cream, but for some reason I really grew to love this scent! I also loved the application. Something about the non-aerosol made it easier to get the right thickness of product on my legs, etc. When ever I use gel creams I always feel like I have WAY too much product during my shave and that I'm not getting as close of a shave as a result. With this Alba foam shave I never had that problem. It has enough of a foam to do it's job without getting in its own way. It also found that this product was non-drying and kind of moisturizing, which is always nice with shaving products. Will I buy it again? Yes, and yes! There is another scent of this product that I saw when I bought this one, so I would love to try that next, the next time I come across this product (everyone needs an excuse to go to Whole Foods right?) . I would also love to try other non-aerosol shaving creams & foams, but so far this is the only one I know about.

So what do you think? Have you guys tried any of these products and had similar or completely different experiences? Wanna know more about a product and think I should do a post devoted entirely to it? Comments, concerns, questions? Comment below and let me know!

Sally Hansen Magnetic Nail Color

So one of the things I got in my Summer Beauty VoxBox through Influenster was the Sally Hansen Magnetic Nail Color in Red-y Response. I have never tried a "magnetic" polish before, but I am here to report that it is actually really easy! It is as simple as holding the magnet thing over your nail during your 2nd coat of polish!

What do you guys think of the pattern, or idea of magnetic polishes? I am kind of interested in trying out a magnet that is chevron shaped, though I am not sure if Sally Hansen has a chevron one yet. I would love to see a black & white magnetic polish too! Maybe a polka dot pattern magnet? There are so many possible options!

What do you think? Comment below :)

**I received this product for free through Influenster for testing and review purposes. However, I was not obligated to write a review**

I will be reviewing some (or maybe all?) of the items in the coming days/weeks, so keep your eyes out if you are interested in my opinion on all of these products.

Disclaimer: Anyone who knows me in real life, and maybe you have picked up on it on this blog, knows that I love free stuff. If there is a coupon, deal, or system for sampling free things, I am THERE. However, know that I would never change my opinion of something just because it was free.
**All the items seen here were given to my for free through Influenster for review, and you can sign up too at their website**

Let's play I Spy! Comment below if you recognize some products that I already have tried before receiving this VoxBox! 2 Subscribe-y points if you can guess the one I have loved since December! :)

And Then I Found A Box Of Empties When I Was Unpacking

Just when you thought I was done using up products... I found a bunch of empties that I forgot I had saved for posting on this blog but didn't have time to write about before I moved. Funny how moving can swallow up items and you just forget about them until you finally unpack everything haha.

1. Bath Basics 3 in 1 in Tangerine
Talk about a giant bottle of bubble bath right?! I got this at Rite Aid aaaages ago and, if I recall correctly, this honkin' thing only cost $5! What a fantastic deal! With prices and sizes like these I didn't have to be skimpy and could have a heavenly excessively bubble filled bath :) This foams up and bubbles up quite nicely, and you can smell the scent while your tub is filling, and somewhat while you are soaking. This is just an all around good bubble bath, just nothing spectacular. Buy again? At $5, and with good performance, definitely. When you think about it, those expensive bubble baths seem silly even if they are a little better than this because with this being cheaper you don't have to be skimpy. Also, I loved using this with some Coconut Oil added into my bath to make it moisturizing. Now, when you consider the price of coconut oil and this together... you really don't need to splurge on expensive bubble baths :P

2. Mainstays Candle in Wild Honeysuckle
This is a $1 candle from Walmart, so I don't know why I was expecting much. Needless to say, this candle was a total let down. The only time you can smell the scent is when you sniff it in the store, never could smell it when it was burning. Not even when I was hovering right over it! These could be nice for light purposes like in the summer at night with a bonfire, because then you don't really care about the scent, and $1 would be a good price for something of that purpose. Would I buy again? Never again for room scent purposes. Will keep it in mind for unscented candle purposes though because the little jar looks nice and the label is easy to take off.

3. Lip Vitamins Lip Balm in Peach Mango
You might recall my hauling this from Claire's for a whopping $1 on sale! For it only costing $1 I didn't expect wonders, but I was super surprised and got great results! It was actually extremely moisturizing, almost like a lip butter or something. At first I thought the oval shape of the tube was a little weird, but that I found myself loving that aspect of it too! Buy again? Really considering it! Next time I spot one of those Claire's 10 for 10 deals, I might have to stock up on these and check out some other flavors. Watch me never find it again though, haha. Anyone know anywhere that carries these chapsticks other than Claire's?

4. Tretinoin Cream
My opinion hasn't changed since the first time I emptied a tube of this: see this post. 2 down 4 to go.

5. Deep Sea Cosmetics Hand and Body Lotion Sample
So this was one of those samples that those kiosk guys at the mall hand you and then try to talk you into buying their product. I, however, am the queen of playing such players and take the sample when they hand it to me without slowing down my pace and just keep walking. If you don't stop and don't hesitate they are completely disarmed and know that you are totally calling them out, haha. The guy even tried a section tactic of saying I dropped something, so I turned my head, while still walking, then he laughed because he knew I wasn't fooled and gave me a wink, almost like it was for respect to a fellow player, hahahahaha. Anyway, on to the product itself. This lotion is nothing special. It smells soapy, which I don't really hate, but was expecting something more "exotic" or something since it claims to be from the Dead Sea. Buy full size? Not a chance. Probably too expensive for what it is, plus don't want to deal with those kiosk people, haha.

6. Nivea Essentially Enriched Daily Lotion
This lotion was just fine. I got it one sale at Target, so that was nice since it was about half price (and who will complain about half price Nivea?). I found that it was actually really nice and moisturizing! I did think that it could be a little greasy, but I was willing to deal with they because it moisturized so nicely. I does have a kind of medicinal powdery smell that reminds me of nurses and hospitals for some reason, haha. But again? I might, though it being on sale maybe they are discontinuing it? Definitely not running to get it right away because I am always wanting to try new body lotions. If I can find something that gives the results of this lotion but with a nice smell, and maybe less of a greasy feeling, then we'll be talking!

7. It's a 10 Miracle Leave-In Product Travel Sized
I will admit I was a little underwhelmed by this product. I am super glad I got to try it out at half price though, since I am ALWAYS hearing about this product, so of course wanted to try it out myself. I didn't think this did anything spectacular, but I didn't hate it. I did think it helped a little with moisture and taming frizz. However, I don't really like the smell. While I don't think I would buy this product again, I am open to considering other products in the line, especially if those smell better, haha.

8. Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum Travel Sized
Now this is a GEM of a product, and I practically got this for pennies when I got it half off like the Its's a 10. I think this cost me a whopping $2.25. That, my friends, is a great price to sample a product at this size! Birtchbox, take note! I think this would be a great thing to put in a future box! haha. Anyway, on to my opinion. I loved this. Even though its a serum, I never felt like this was thick or sticky, just absorbed into my hair without looking like I used to much! I also loved how light this was on my hair while still giving great frizz fighting results! And, can I also mention the smell? It is divine! Buy the full size? I am REALLY considering it, but the price tag is holding me back. Going to use up more of what I have, and maybe try some cheaper alternatives first before biting that bullet. Hey, even if I don't find a cheaper alternative, they will just give me a better appreciation for this product and all it can do, haha!

9. Glade Candle in Cool Serenity
I have reviewed many a candle, and quite a few Glade ones at this point to really know what I want from a candle at this point. The smell was fine, but a little mediocre and nothing special. The burn wasn't clean, but the scent did emanate a decent amount form the candle while it burned. Buy again? Not this scent, but probably will still buy Glade candles, even thought they aren't my favorite. The price is just good for something that doesn't last a super long time.

10. Cortizone 10 Intensive Healing Formula
I don't think I posted an empties post the last time I used up a half-used tube of Cortizone, but it was equally victorious then as this one is now! Haha. I feel like I always have tubes of Cortizone hanging around foreverrrr because I always find myself needing some when traveling but forgot to bring it so would have to buy another one. This had me up to three tubes going all at the same time at one point. But this one marks the end of my superfluousness cortizone stage, haha, for I actually had to go buy some after using up this tube because I had no tubes left! Thank you empties quest for giving the strength and appreciation to make this moment possible. LOL Too much emotion about cortizone? Anyway, buy again? Cortizone, yes. This formula? Probably not. Didn't think this was any different than regular Cortizone.

11. Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Nail Polish in Champagne Toast
I loved this nail polish so was a little bummed when I found that the lid to this became just impossible to open! Haha. Even though I perhaps could have gotten it open by soaking it in nail polish remover or something, I've had this bottle since about 2007 or so, and it was getting a little thick anyway. I do however love the color, and it drys in a pretty decent amount of time. All nail polish chips on my nails, so this wasn't anything special in that category. But, this was a nice staple color, and it never failed me. Buy again? I think I will when I need this color again or actually use up more nail polish.

12. Bath and Body Works Body Lotion Sample Size in Malibu Heat
Glad I got this for free with a coupon (though only saved myself a dollar, haha) because I hated the scent. It just seemed so cliche and not unique at all. I am used to BBW lotions having a complex scent of a few things together but this seemed just one dimentional and unoriginal. A was a nice summer like smell, but not my style. The formula of this lotion is just fine, nothing special. Buy again? Definitely not this scent, and probably not the lotion in another scent since its not any better than drug store lotions.

13. Physicians Formula Moisture Balance Ultra-Hydrating Day & Night Cream
To put it plainly, this product SUCKED. It stung my face, was way overpriced at $20, and just didn't do anything for me. Once I got about half way through and fed up with the stinging I decided to use it as a body lotion just to use it up but even there it still sucked! It was totally rolly and gross as a body lotion. Buy again? Never, and I'm not interested in the other stuff in their new line after my horrors with this.

14. Bodycology Nourishing Body Cream in Cloud Nine
This was ok, but not amazing. The smell was fine, but got old and annoying after a while. The lotion formula is quite nice so I wouldn't be adverse to trying out other scents. This smaller size is nice because you can use it as a hand cream, though its a little greasy for that. It is also the perfect size for one full body application, which I think is great for trying out a scent on the cheap because I wanna say this only cost $2 at Target. They make the scents in body sprays and perfumes and stuff, so I think its great that you could try a scent for $2 before committing to a more expensive bigger size.

15. Mai Couture Oil Blotting Sheets in Lavender
I didn't hate these, but I am glad that I got them for free/super cheap in my December MyGlam bag when I was subscribed to them for a hot second. The sheets are fine, and the lavender smell doesn't bother me, but the thing holding me back from really liking them is the fact then whenever I used them I felt I had to use 2x as many sheets as I do with other brands. Other brands I only need one sheet for my whole face, but with these I needed two, every time. Would I buy them in the future? I don't think so, while they aren't terribly expensive, they are still too expensive for something that I use at 2 at a time. Maybe if I only could use one sheet then I would consider it, because I like the little booklet format these come in. I wouldn't be upset if I got them for free or as a gift though.

16. Arquiste Perfume Sample in Flor y Canto
I got this in my May Birchbox, and I just love the scent. It is a fresh but mature floral scent that reminds me of my mother, and just screams beauty to me. I would LOVE to own the full size of this perfume, but at $165 for only 55ml, I don't see it ever happening unless I become a very rich person haha. I would just die if I got this as a gift though. I adore that I got to try out something so luxurious through birchbox, just wish the brand sold rollerballs or something, then I think I might be able to buy it haha. Maybe if my blog gets more followers and I can get referral birchbox points my dream could become a reality, haha. :P Wanna help? Here is my referral link if you wanna sign up for birchbox and help me out: click here my lovelies.

17. Bath and Body Works Mini Shower Gel in Wild Citrus Sunflower
I bought a bunch of BBW stuff and then returned a bunch when I decided the scents weren't worth it and my money was better spent on an awesome super on sale Fossil purse (check out my previous post featuring it). This shower gel, however, was the only product to survive the return spree because I legitimately loved the scent so much that I wanted to use it all. It is a fun fruity scent with a slight floral backnote, and is just fun and refreshing to use in the shower! Buy again? I might when the spring stuff goes on sale! I would adore getting it as a gift too. In the meantime I'll be using some much cheaper shower gels that cost half the price of this and is like 8x the size haha.

18. Crest Sensitivity Clinical Sensitivity Relief Toothpaste.
I liked this toothpaste, but I'm not sure I would re-buy it. I think it helps somewhat with sensitivity but I think Sensodyne does it a lot better and a lot faster. I did like the taste, and I think it helped maintain the whiteness of my teeth, which was nice.

But Wait There's More (Empties)!

Just when you and I thought I had enough empties... I managed to finish a bunch of things all within the same few days! Haha.

1. Garnier Nutritioniste Moisture Rescue Lightweight UV-Lotion
I bought this after having lots of luck with the gel moisturizer in this line, but I had grown bored of that one. I thought the lotion version would be awesome, and super cost effective. But, I ended up hating this lotion, mostly because it majorly peeled/rolled in the morning when ever I would put my makeup on. Boo :( It then took a while to use this up once I found I couldn't use it on my face. I ended up using it as a hand cream (wouldn't recommend though because I think it actually dried out my hands, haha), a body lotion, and some times a foot cream. Won't buy again. Still love the Garnier grape water smell though!

2. Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat Mini
I love and hate this... I love its results: super shiny and fast drying. But I hate the smell, and how it gets thick and stringing towards the end of its life. I know that there are ways to "save" this polish once it reaches that gloopy phase, but I can't stand that it happened even with this mini size! Probably won't buy again, because it is expensive, but did like it so would use it again if I some how managed to get it as a gift, or if I found an absolutely fabulous deal on it. Or perhaps after using some other brand top coats I'll change my mind? Guess we'll find out! haha

3. Pantene Pro-V Ice Shine Silicone Free Shampoo
I legitimately loved this, and loved it way more than I anticipated! I looove the smell, and I love it's results. It's simple in the sense that it doesn't try to be more than it is, and gives the results that you expect. It cleaned my hair to the perfect level and I think it actually did make it a little shinier than other shampoos have. Will I buy again? At a price of under $4, I definitely will be! And probably will some time soon once I move out of my parents house and likely will be on a tight budget.

4. Fekkai Glossing Conditioner
I was underwhelmed, but this conditioner was fine. I only bought this because it was on clearance randomly at Walmart one time so I figured, why not? Well, didn't like the herbal smell, and didn't feel that it really did much for my hair. I liked that it was light weight, but I expected way more from this since it is Fekkai. Buy again? Probably not, but still open minded about Fekkai and would try other things, perhaps even other Glossing products too.

5. I Love... Bubble Bath in Coconut & Cream, and Strawberries & Milkshakes
These were nice, especially together in a bath at the same time! What a delicious scent that was! I also found that these bubble baths paired with some coconut oil in the bath creates a fabulous moisturizing bath! These two mark the end of my beloved I Love... gift set :( Buy again? I think I just might! Buy the full sized? I think I just might do that too! Just not sure what scent would win.

6. Softsoap Rich Moisturizing Shea Butter
This soap was nice and kinda moisturizing. I liked the smell too. However, the beads in this soap always stuck around in my sink, and makes my sink look gross! Buy again? Maybe when I move and have a different sink (that maybe would have less of an issue with the shea butter beads?).

7. Sally Hansen French Manicure Pen
I remember looooving this when I first bought it a year or so ago. I bought it as part of a mission to learn to do my own french manicures after being enlightened to my love of them haha. I found that this made drawing the white line pretty easy, but towards the end of the pens life it started getting watery, and I would need to do more than one coat, and even then it just didn't look right, so in the trash this goes! Buy again? Not sure actually, because now I know about the Renforcements trick so perhaps I'll just buy a regular bottle of white nail polish instead? Not sure yet though as I am not having a french manicure phase right now.

Review: Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips

You've seen 'em, now I've tried 'em, and I understand the hype now! It's the Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish strips!

Disclaimer: Anyone who knows me in real life, and maybe you have picked up on it on this blog, knows that I love free stuff. If there is a coupon, deal, or system for sampling free things, I am THERE. However, know that I would never change my opinion of something just because it was free.
**The Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips seen here were given to my for free through Influenster**

The Verdict: While at first I wasn't too thrilled that I was sent this crazy zebra pattern, it has grown on me the past few days. I found that applying them was surprisingly easy, and maybe easier than the other nail polish strip brand I have used in the past, because the polish strips are quite thin, and are easy to make smooth. I can definitely tell that these are real nail polish rather than just stickers, because once they are laid on and dry, you can hardly tell the difference at all! Also, it was during application that I decided the crazy pattern wasn't so bad on my toes because its kind like have crazy socks, or underwear: no one else can really see it unless you want them too, and its like a secret little pick me up for yourself :) The wear on these is also great actually. I have been wearing flats without socks or anything, which normally has a tendency to cause my nail polish to chip or rub off in certain areas, but with this polish, I haven't had that problem.

Will I buy another set? Yes! I am dying to try out a solid color on my fingers now! I hope that they wear just as long and great on my crazy chipped peel-y finger nails because I have the hardest time keeping polish on the flaky tips of my nails. *Crosses fingers that this will be an awesome exception*

Also, if you were creative, and really loving a pattern, you could probably figure out a way to make each set last for 2 manicures instead of just one because some of the strips could really be cut in half! I wasn't worried about that with this set because I wasn't wild about the pattern and knew I would probably only tolerate wearing it once. But if I find these working well on my fingers... I'll definitely have to do another review about tips for making the set last longer if I can achieve it!

So what about you guys? Think the zebra is crazy too? Have you guys tried these strips yet? Have any color or pattern suggestions for me? Comment below! Better yet, leave me a link to your blog post about it! I'd love to read it :)
